Well, they do in my world! I just got done creating a postcard with my latest work illustrating a nursery rhyme “The Flying Pig”.

The fully illustrated rhyme is below. (Click on the image to see it larger.)

I started to enjoy these characters a lot, wondering about their next stunt. The pig is so oblivious to his surroundings that his poor sidekick, The Magnificant Mondo, finds danger and chaos at every turn. Moving on with the show, the lion (who is tamer than tame and loves flowers) also has a dry sense of humor. “Why don’t I surprise Magnificant Mondo with my next roar?”

And he does.

Poor Mondo!

  1. Thank you so much for visiting our classroom with your illustrations. I can’t wait to have the kids try illustrating one of their “books” with paint. Should be fun to paint like Ms. Sara!
